Valve adds Iceworld to CS:GO Active Duty map pool

Valve is once again changing up the competitive map pool by replacing Train with Iceworld, a longtime Counter-Strike classic and fan favorite. This means that Iceworld will be played at the next CS:GO Major in August, Starladder Berlin, as well as at other international tournaments.
Iceworld has never been played in competitive Counter-Strike, and there is no established meta for it at the professional level of play. Unlike standard bomb-defusal maps, players in Iceworld aimlessly run around hipfiring, attempt to knife each other, and insult other players’ relatives.
The Active Duty map pool now consists of Vertigo, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, and Iceworld. With Vertigo likely being a permaban in map vetoes for many teams at the top level, Iceworld is very likely to see competitive play in the coming months.
